Mode of transport
Air freight
The core service when schedule, cargo cut-off and flight coordination govern the move. Origin, destination, weight, dimensions and timing are stated.
Sea freight
Full container or part container. Documents, storage and the clearance requirements are stated with the shipment.
Road freight
Collection and delivery inside the country and across borders. The vehicle position is recorded from GPS on the trip, with the reading accuracy and the time of the update.
Weight and volume determine cost, equipment and mode.
Before collection
- Confirm goods are packed, sealed and labelled as you intend them to travel
- Note package count, gross weight and outer dimensions for each package type
- List special handling needs early — fragile, time-sensitive or serial-tracked goods
- Align access times for collection and any hold-and-release instructions
Where the scope includes packing, sealing, labels or serial-number recording, that work is completed before the goods move.
Timing
Transit time is not published as a fixed figure. Timing is set from the following:
- Availability of the goods for collection or warehouse intake.
- For air freight: the flight window and the cargo cut-off.
- Inspection or customer review, where required before release.
- Storage between arrival and the next movement, where required.
Timing follows the agreed service and the carrier schedule, and it is set for each shipment.
VOLUMETRIC WEIGHT
Volumetric weight.By mode and container.
Volumetric weight is estimated with standard planning divisors for air, road and courier. The same dimensions are stated in cubic metres and compared with standard container volumes.
